A tale of Flemish folklore in which Mad Meg, dressed in male armour, leads a band of women to pillage Hell. A world turned upside down, as congregations mob their pastors and military ships are seized by frogs. Mad Meg’s troops are dragged deeper and deeper into Hell by the weight of their silver and gold.
The work questions the convictions that adorn breastplates made for war, and how art relates to such certainty.
